CARLOTAN ROCK FEST 2009
Six years of Latin Alternative Music in the Carolinas
Loaded with energy and talent, CARLOTAN ROCK, the only Latin Rock festival in the Carolinas, returns in its sixth edition.
As always, this year we will showcase the incredible musical talent in Charlotte and its surrounding areas. We are pleased to have the participation of new bands that have spawned and grown along with Carlotan Rock.
Together in the name and spirit of music, and convinced that Latin Rock in the Carolinas pulsates more than ever, CARLOTAN ROCK’09 will take place Friday, August 14 at Skandalo’s. Doors open at 8 pm.

Este año, al igual que siempre, queremos destacar el gran talento musical que existe en Charlotte y sus alrededores. Estamos muy contentos de tener la participación de bandas nuevas que se han ido formando y creciendo junto con Carlotan Rock.
Unidos por la música, y demostrando que el movimiento de Rock en Español en las Carolinas late más fuerte que nunca, CARLOTAN ROCK’09 te espera el Viernes 14 de Agosto, en Skandalo’s a partir de 8 pm.

Monte Negro
Con pasos seguros que van confirmando el éxito en su destacada carrera, Monte Negro, la prometedora banda de rock bicultural y bilingüe, toma el mando con su nuevo EP "Fugitives Of Pleasure/Pasajeros", que dará luz bajo su propio sello (Feed The Hungry). El grupo se prepara a dar inicio a la gira mas extensa que haya tenido hasta el momento en apoyo a su lanzamiento, que los llevará a Puerto Rico y hacer su debut en México en el mes de Octubre, en una gira patrocinada por Converse.

La Rúa
Three years after their separation, the original members of La Rúa have announced that the band will reunite to participate at the sixth edition of the Carlotan Rock Festival.
The band, who paved the way for the now vibrant Latin Alternative music scene in the Carolinas is thrilled to get back on the Carlotan Rock stage for a performance that promises to not be forgotten.
Don't miss the opportunity to see La Rúa live for one night only, and enjoy songs such as "El Chanchito, La Jeva and Abril". Songs that in many ways define Rock en Español made in Charlotte.

Flor de Zempa
La banda empezo hace 4 años con cambios de integrantes,Leonel, Andy, Cristian, Sergio e Isabel hasta ahora tenemos muy buenas oportunidades gracias a los organizadores y gente dedicada a este medio. Hemos participado con Panteon Rococo, y con bandas locales. Ha sido una satisfaccion muy grande haber participado en todos estos eventos. Nuestro objetivo es que la gente escuche nuestras canciones y darlas a conocer al mundo...

Rey de Bastos
With some of the former members of La Marea this band coming together for the first time in the festival. Some of their musicians are great supporters of the Rock en Espanol scene in Charlotte, NC. Their music is a mixed of ska and reggae with great solos and awesome bass lines.
